Some Things You May Find Helpful-Paint Disposal

Hello there!

As promised I'm back to talk about paint disposal options. If you are anything like me you may or may not have 15-20 half used gallons of paint hanging around your garage. Hanging around the garage is exactly where they would stay until they are virtually worthless...Unless we can find something useful to do with them!

There are some alternatives to keeping them around until the end of time, and you can usually find them through your local city or county landfill....

First we will start with the best option available. Check with family, neighbors, local civic organizations, or perhaps a theater company or an organization that might need to paint frequently? Some people need paint to maintain a building, bridge, or playhouse and could care less for the most part what the color is.

If you have asked around and exhausted all of the reuse options at your disposal and just want the paint out of your sight and you're in Salt Lake County here are some options for you

Here is a link to the website I got this info off of if you want to make sure the info hasn't changed..or in case you're reading this in 2045, a girl can dream.

Diverting and Reusing Donated Items

Most landfills have a re-use/diversion area to divert waste from a life in the landfill and give it hope of a new life at a nice person's house or project. Each landfill may call it something different, in Cache County it is called the Landfill Mall (I want to go just based off of the name) at the Trans-Jordan Landfill it is called the re-use shed, regardless of the name check it out!

Trans-Jordan Landfill Re-Use Shed

Open to the Public

Monday to Saturday 7:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.
You can find paint and some other household or garden chemicals here. Your paint may even end up here!

The best part about the re-use shed at Trans Jordan Landfill...

IT IS FREE!

Not only is this a great option for you to get rid of your used paint. Maybe next time you need some of these items you could think to check out a local landfill to save some money for yourself and save some of these items from the landfill

As always thanks for reading

Until the next time...
